I can't believe it's been over two months since the quarantine began. It was back in mid-March when public Masses were put on hold. We were all scrambling to try and figure out live-streaming. We recorded Masses and posted them on the parish website/social media pages. We started creating and increasing our parish's online presence.
Here is the most important news from this time of isolation. Last June, we successfully renovated the roof of our church. I was sure that we are safe from any significant expenditure for the foreseeable future. I couldn't be more wrong; at the end of April, I got a call from the owner of the building next to our church, showing me the terrible shape of the eastern wall of our building.
I consulted with some neighborhood experts and some of our parishioners on how to prevent further damage. We started the exterior remodeling consisting of 3 coat stucco systems: wire mesh, scratch coat, brown coat followed by a layer of MasterProtect coating.
Please, help us defray the cost of this work, which will cost $45,000.
May God bless you all in this challenging time!
